One Beat

ONE BEAT is a journey around the world through electronic music. From Rio to Berlin, Tokyo to Havana, Paris to Nairobi, every track imagines the same scene: a festival at night, a crowd and a beat crossing borders. Each track shares the same DNA—house, deep house and acid house—while embracing the sounds of its destination: traditional instruments, local rhythms, languages, accents and electronic cultures meet in a production designed for the dancefloor. ONE BEAT is an album conceived as an imaginary world tour. One city after another. One culture after another. Always the same beat.

Production intention

It all began with a simple question: can you hear a city in a piece of electronic music? I wanted every track to create that feeling: recognizing a country before even hearing its name, or hearing “Buenos Aires”, “Dakar” or “Berlin” and immediately thinking: yes, of course—this track could only have come from there. The challenge was to avoid both folklore and a compilation of world music. The festival remains the starting point: house and acid tracks built to make a crowd dance, with build-ups, breaks and drops. Then each destination transforms that foundation. An Argentinian bandoneon meets a 303. A Rio bateria takes over a drop. A kora converses with synthesizers. A Portuguese guitar cuts across a house beat. At every stop, the voices change language, accent and character. The beat is universal. Identity is not. This encounter lies at the heart of ONE BEAT.
